Functional improvements
"I bought these to replace my 5 year old Wool Runner Mizzles which were the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. I normally get blisters on my heel from any new shoe, but not those. Trying the new Wool Runner NZ there are improvements as well as changes I don't like as much. I love the black and the shape of the tongue. It seems to stay put instead of sliding to the side like on most of my other runners. I don't particularly like the wider soul around the ball of the foot, but I suppose it makes for a more stable shoe so maybe it's just something to get used to. Visually I like the slimmer design of the Mizzles. My left foot is rubbing a bit at the heel of the new shoes, but that will wear in over time. I must have strange feet or way of walking that makes this happens to me across other brands. The toe box is higher on these, I guess because a lot of people wore that part out with their big toe, but that wasn't a problem for me. Probably a pro for many people, but again I like the more sleek design of the Mizzles. I never really tested how water resistant the Mizzles were, so these ones not having a water repellent coating probably won't matter to me. Otherwise I am liking the Wool Runner NZ. My gripes are more aesthetic than functional."
